I think the lesson I’m learning is to stop seeking replacements for my addiction of choice, baked goods.
I’ve been on LCHF (Low Carb/High Fat) and IF (Intermittent Fasting) for a year now and I’m starting to find peace in my adopted eating behaviors.
I no longer crave a visit to the bakery. I’ve stopped reading cookie cookbooks.
It’s really about changing my life, not changing my diet. But it took a full year to get to this place.
Insulin resistance is a powerful force. I am addressing the true needs of my body rather than always seeking a sweet party in my mouth.
The only sweets I have are small portions of 88% chocolate. And I have mental and emotional peace around food and eating.
How good is that??? Never in my wildest dreams did I think that possible. Changing my food choices is healing me in a profound way. And the treatment for this healing is free!
Changing food choices is hard work at first. Do the work. There are many rewards!
